Foil napkins in gold, rose gold and silver
Foil is not printed onto the napkin, it is pressed into it. A metal die stamps a thin layer of real metallic foil onto the paper, which is why the design catches candlelight from across a room and why you can feel a faint relief when you run a thumb over it.
Gold, rose gold and silver are the three we press most. The effect is strongest on a short piece of text, which is why monograms, two names and a milestone number are the classic foil designs.
When foil is the right choice, and when it is not
Choose foil for a monogram, initials, a date, a large number or a short line of script, especially on ivory, black, navy or a deep color. Choose standard print instead for photographs, pet portraits, florals or any artwork that needs more than one color, because foil presses in a single tone.
Available on all three sizes: cocktail, dinner and guest towel.
How ordering works
Pick a design, choose Yes ยท Metallic foil under foil finish, and give us the wording. A free digital proof comes before printing. U.S. orders over $75 ship free.
Foil napkin questions
Is it real foil?
Yes. A metallic layer is pressed into the paper with heat and a die, not printed with metallic-looking ink. That is why it reflects light properly and why you can feel the impression.
Which foil colors can I have?
Gold, rose gold and silver. Gold on ivory or black is the most ordered. Rose gold suits blush and dusty pink palettes. Silver reads cooler and works on navy, gray and winter designs.
Can I have foil and full color together?
Not in the same element, because foil is a single tone. What we can do is foil the lettering and print the rest of the design in color, which is a common solution for a pet portrait with a foiled name.
Does foil cost more?
Slightly, because it is an extra pass on the press with a physical die. The step is a couple of dollars on a 50-napkin order and the difference narrows at higher quantities. You will see the exact price in the selector.
Which designs suit foil best?
Short ones. A monogram, two first names, a date, a milestone number, or a single line of script. Fine detail and very small type lose definition in foil, so the proof matters more here than usual.
How many should I order?
The same as any napkin: two to three cocktail per guest, one to two dinner per guest. The minimum is 50 and the per-napkin price falls at every step up to 1,000.
