How many of each

The counts are rarely the same, which is why the pieces are ordered separately. Napkins go two to three per guest because people take a fresh one with every drink. Plates go one dinner and one to two dessert per guest. Order to those numbers rather than matching them.

Plates and napkins questions

How many plates and napkins do I need?

For 40 guests: 80 to 120 cocktail napkins, 40 dinner plates and 40 to 80 dessert plates. Napkins always outnumber plates, because a guest uses one plate and several napkins.

Do the plate and the napkin match exactly?

Yes. The artwork is set for each shape rather than stretched, so the design on a round 9 inch plate and a square 4.8 inch napkin is the same design at the right proportions.

Can you microwave the plates?

No. The print and coating are not made for heat, so warm food on ceramic and serve on these. That applies to the leftovers the next day too.

Which sizes should I choose?

Cocktail napkins for a standing party, dinner napkins for a seated meal. Dessert plates at 7 inches for cake, dinner plates at 9 inches for a full serving.

Can I add coasters or favor labels in the same design?

How far ahead should I order?

Two to three weeks for a party, two to three months for a wedding. Plates are a bulky delivery, so give yourself room rather than tracking a parcel the week of the event.
