Wedding cocktail napkins for the bar and cocktail hour

Cocktail napkins are the 4.8 inch beverage size, and at a wedding they do most of the work. They go out during cocktail hour, sit in a stack at the bar all evening, and travel with every drink your guests carry across the room.

Print your first names and the date, a monogram, the signature drink, or a one-liner worth reading twice. Full color handles florals, greenery and illustration; metallic foil gives you gold, rose gold or silver with a slight relief you can feel.

How many to put on the bar

Two to three per guest is the number bartenders work to, because a napkin goes with every drink rather than with every person. A hundred and twenty guests will comfortably move through 300, and the leftovers reappear at the rehearsal dinner and the first anniversary.

Pair them with matching coasters and a signature drink sign and the whole bar reads as one thing rather than three.

What size is a cocktail napkin?

4.8 x 4.8 inches folded. It is the standard beverage size used behind a bar: small enough to hold against a glass, large enough to carry a name, a date and a design without crowding.

How many cocktail napkins do I need for a wedding?

Two to three per guest. For 100 guests that is 200 to 300; for 150 guests, 300 to 450. Count drinks rather than people, because a four-hour reception with an open bar goes through more than a two-hour lunch.

Cocktail or dinner size?

Cocktail, for a bar. It is the size the bar is set up for and the size that fits in the hand next to a glass. Add dinner napkins as a separate order if you are also serving a seated meal.

What does foil printing look like?

Real metallic foil, pressed into the napkin so it catches candlelight. Gold and rose gold are ordered most. Foil prints in a single tone, so for artwork with several colors or a photograph, choose standard print.

Are they sturdy enough?

These are 3-ply napkins, soft on the hand and thick enough not to fall apart around a cold glass. That matters more at a bar than anywhere else, because condensation is what ruins a thin napkin.

What is the minimum order?

Fifty napkins, up to 1,000 on a single design. The price per napkin drops at every step, so one larger order is nearly always better value than two smaller ones. A free proof is included either way.
