Custom pet napkins drawn from your own photograph
Send us a photo of the dog, the cat, the horse or the parrot, and we draw it onto a napkin. Pet napkins are the most-loved thing we make, and the reaction at the table is consistent: everyone picks one up, turns it over, and asks who did it.
They work at a wedding where the dog could not attend, at a birthday for someone who talks about their cat more than their job, at Christmas, and at a party thrown for the animal itself. Two pets on one napkin is common; five is our record so far.
Beyond napkins
The same portrait goes on can coolers, coasters and bar signs. For weddings specifically, see pet wedding napkins and pet wedding favors. Browsing by animal: dog napkins and cat napkins.
How ordering works
Choose a design, a size and a quantity, then upload your photo on the product page. We draw the portrait and send a free digital proof by email. If the likeness is not right, we redraw it before anything prints. U.S. orders over $75 ship free.
Pet napkin questions
What kind of photo do you need?
Daylight, sharp, and taken at the animal's eye level rather than from above. The whole head in frame, ears included. Phone photos are fine. What does not work is a dark room, a moving dog, or a face half hidden behind a toy.
Can you put more than one pet on a napkin?
Yes. Two sit side by side comfortably, three still read well, and beyond that we place them smaller or across the design. Send a separate photo of each animal rather than one group shot; they are easier to draw well that way.
Is it a drawing or my actual photo?
Both are possible. Most of these designs are illustrations drawn from your photograph, which suits a napkin better because the linework stays crisp at small sizes. If you want the photograph itself, say so and we will place it.
What if the portrait does not look like my dog?
Tell us on the proof and we redraw it. Nothing prints until you say the likeness is right, and that revision is free. The markings people care about are usually the ones on the face, so mention them if they matter.
How many should I order?
Two to three cocktail napkins per guest for drinks and cake. Order a handful extra: pet napkins get taken home in handbags more than any other design we print, which is a compliment but it does affect the count.
How long does the drawing take?
Allow a little longer than a text-only design, since a person has to draw it before printing starts. Two to three weeks ahead of the event is comfortable. Tell us the date and we will confirm before you commit.
