Pet baby shower napkins for the family's first baby

Baby shower napkins with the dog or cat drawn onto them, announcing the sibling on the way. Promoted to big brother, promoted to big sister, or the animal simply sitting next to the due date looking unaware of what is about to happen.

It is one of the more affectionate things we print. For couples whose pet has been the household's baby for years, the shower is the moment that changes, and a napkin acknowledging it lands better than another set of pastel balloons.

How it works

Send a photograph and we illustrate the animal, then set it in the palette of the shower: sage, dusty blue, blush, cream, or whatever the invitation uses. Add the baby's name or the due date underneath.

How ordering works

Choose a size and quantity, upload the photo, and we draw it. A free digital proof comes by email, and we redraw at no cost if the likeness is off. U.S. orders over $75 ship free.

Pet baby shower questions

How many do I need?

Two to three cocktail napkins per guest for cake, punch and coffee. For 25 guests, 50 to 75. Order a few extra, because these are the ones that get taken home rather than used.

What photo do you need?

Daylight, in focus, at the animal's eye level with the whole head and both ears in frame. A phone photo is fine. Dark rooms and shots taken from above are the two that do not work.

What should the wording say?

Promoted to big brother or big sister is the line people choose most. The baby's name with the pet's name underneath also works, and the due date is a good alternative if the name is still a secret.

Can you draw two pets?

Yes. Two side by side works comfortably at cocktail size. Send a separate photograph of each animal rather than one group shot.

Can it match the rest of the shower?

Yes. Send the invitation or the napkin design you have chosen and we set the portrait in the same palette, so it reads as part of the shower rather than a joke bolted onto it.

How far ahead should I order?

Three to four weeks, since the portrait is drawn by hand before printing starts. Earlier if the shower falls close to the due date.
